Birth work invites us into some of life's most profound, tender, and challenging moments. While we spend so much time holding space for others, opportunities to gather and reflect together can be rare.
This art circle is an invitation for birth workers of all kinds to come together in community, share stories, connect with peers, and explore the experiences we carry through creative expression. Through simple art-making prompts and open conversation, we'll create space to process, witness, and honor the moments that have shaped us—both joyful and difficult.
No artistic experience is necessary. This is not an art class, therapy session, or professional birth debrief. I am not a birth expert or mental health professional. Rather, I am offering a welcoming space where birth workers can gather, create, reflect, and support one another through the power of storytelling, creativity, and connection.

CREATE A TINY WORLD: Miniature Shadow Box Workshop with artist LARA BLAIR
Create your own miniature world inside a shadow box! Using one small figure as your starting point, you’ll build a unique scene using a variety of materials, textures, and miniature elements. Will your figure be exploring a forest? Standing on a giant cupcake? Floating in space? You decide.
This workshop is designed for adults and kids who love miniatures and creativity, and makes a particularly fun experience to create together. Each participant creates their own shadow box project.

Cookbook Club
is a gathering for food lovers, curious cooks, and community seekers.
Each month, we explore a local cookbook, try new recipes, and come together to share a delicious community meal.
Through conversation, cooking, and connection, we celebrate local flavors, creativity, and the simple joy of gathering around the table!
-Each reader is responsible for ordering their own book and will prepare a dish to bring to our private gathering.
-After registering, a detailed email will be sent with more information.

Arin will teach you how to paint a beautiful PNW beach sunset scene with watercolors! We will warm up by exploring our color palette as always. Arin will begin by demonstrating her techniques to landscape painting in watercolor, focusing on how to paint a sunset gradient and colorful reflections on the ocean! You'll then be able to apply your new skills to your own painting, following along as she shows you each step of the way.
You'll take home a finished Pacific Northwest landscape painting. You'll also leave with a set of artist's skills that you'll be able to directly apply to future paintings - whether you paint in your bedroom or plein air out in nature. A limited palette of watercolors and high quality watercolor paper will be provided at the event, but you are encouraged to bring your favorite painting supplies as well. Arin is a watercolor and mixed media artist based in Portland. With a background in the physical sciences, she lives at the intersection of nature, science and art and uses art as a platform to teach, explore and understand how the world works while breaking down the barrier between art and science. Together, we will explore the physiology of birth and the natural rhythms of labor, learning how the body and hormones work together to support the unfolding process of birth when safety, support, and freedom are protected. This class honors birth as both a transformational life experience and a deeply instinctive process.
Partners will learn how to offer grounded, nurturing support through every stage of labor using touch, movement, breath, comfort measures, advocacy, and intentional presence. We will discuss ways to create a calm and supportive birth environment, navigate choices with confidence, and work with labor rather than against it.
