Lead Guide

Susan Elizabeth Fronckowiak

With over 30 years of experience as an adventurer, teacher, and mentor, I bring a deep passion for working with people. My love of wild places, creative expression, and meaningful connection led me to this path.

As an artist, empowerment coach, and rite of passage guide, I weave together nature-based practices, council, and art to support others in stepping into deeper presence and personal transformation.

My background in education includes years of study and practice in both traditional and experiential models, with a focus on environmental and community-based learning. I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, and elders, in classrooms, wild landscapes, and community spaces—experiences that have deepened my humility and trust in the wisdom within each person and the land.

I’ve trained with the School of Lost Borders, Cascadia Quest, Wild Mountain Retreats, and the Earth Based Institute, and have guided in both remote wilderness and urban settings. I’m an active member of the Wilderness Guides’ Council and believe deeply in the power of connection and community. I’m also navigating the beautiful, complex journey of parenting two amazing teenagers… a rite of passage in itself.

Guides, Mentors, & Guest Facilitators

Cate Burnett

Cate has a deep and soulful connection to wild places and all those who live there. She is a naturalist, wildlife tracker and wilderness mentor, having spent over 25 years leading expeditions in the PNW and Hawaii.

Her devotion to honoring the ‘wild and untamed’ stirrings within herself lends enthusiasm and passion to those she guides in the unfolding of deep self-reflection and discovery.

She finds great joy in exploring her creative edges and loves to share this process with others.

Cate has trained with the School of Lost Borders, Rite of Passage Journeys and Animas Valley Institute and holds certifications in Wildlife Track and Sign, Native Plant Studies and is a Leave No Trace Instructor and Wilderness First Responder. She is an active member of the Wilderness Guides’ Council.

Cate’s deep wisdom and presence are a gift to all who have the opportunity to work with her.

Anna NorrisNNA NORRIS

Anna Norris is a plein air painter and co-founder of Norris Arts Studio & Gallery in Camas, Washington. She has journeyed from Hawaii, through the lush forests of the PNW, the deserts and coasts of California, Nevada, Utah, and beyond. These are experiences that have enriched her artistic palette and subject matter.

Her artistic journey began with pen and ink drawings, eventually transitioning to acrylics and oils during her college years. Anna’s work is deeply inspired by the interplay of light, shadow, and shape, often capturing the natural beauty of the Camas-Washougal area.

Together with her husband, Ted Norris, a seasoned ceramicist, Anna established Norris Arts in 2018. Their studio offers a range of art classes and events, fostering a community space for creativity and artistic exploration.

Anna’s paintings are featured in local galleries, including the Attic Gallery in Camas, where her works continue to contribute to the vibrant art scene of the Pacific Northwest.

Allie JanelleNORRIS

Allie is a heart-centered community connector who brings people together with warmth, intention, and authenticity.

For years, Allie hesitated to call herself an artist, feeling limited by not drawing or painting. But as her writing grew and her creative expression unfolded, she came to recognize what had been true all along: writing is her art, and words are her chosen medium. Her long-standing love of writing poetry has deepened in recent years, as she’s learned to release expectations and simply let the words flow—unfiltered, unplanned, and deeply true.

She is a vital presence in her community—lifting others up, building bridges, and making space for joy, and inclusion. Whether through her 18-year career as a barista, while teaching yoga (since 2017), or volunteering with the Downtown Camas Association, she continually finds meaningful ways to support those around her.

Allie truly loves people.

Raising her daughter continues to be one of her greatest learning experiences. Through their relationship, Allie continues to discover new ways of being and connecting.

Rooted in hope and faith, Allie believes in the abundance of love this world holds—and that every person is worthy of it. Allie’s presence is a reminder of the power of showing up with your whole heart.
