The Fall 2026
WOMEN’S RIVER JOURNEY
is an intentional space—
offering deep connection to nature and self, and to a community of women.
We travel by canoe—
through a living canyon,
immersed in the deep ancestral rhythms of the land.
Over days on the river, we slow our pace to match the water. We listen. We rest. We remember what it feels like to be in our bodies, in community, and in right relationship with the land. With nature as our guide, mornings open softly. Days unfold with intention. Evenings are held by firelight, shared meals, and story telling.
This journey is for women who are longing for deep connection.
You don’t need to be an expert paddler.
You don’t need to arrive with answers.
Just a willingness to show up, be carried,
and let the river and canyon hold you.
If you’re ready to step out of your everyday life and into something ancient, grounding, and alive—
the river is waiting. You are welcome here- just as you are.

WHAT TO EXPECT
-
We will journey by canoe for approximately 45 miles along the Green River, moving through the towering canyon walls of Utah’s Labyrinth Canyon. Our route begins at Ruby Ranch, just south of I-70, and concludes at Mineral Bottom near Canyonlands National Park. Over four to five days, our paddling is balanced with spacious layover days at remote riverside camps. Daily travel typically covers 7–15 miles, or about 3–5 hours on the water. The river flows gently here, with no rapids, offering an easeful and accessible paddling experience.
-
Each evening, we make camp along the river—sometimes on wide sandy beaches, other times beneath stands of oak and cottonwood. After unloading the canoes and settling camp together, the pace opens. There is time to swim, wander, rest, and write before we gather to prepare dinner. Several layover days are woven into the journey, offering spaciousness to explore nearby side canyons and to sink more fully into the experiences and invitations thoughtfully offered by our facilitators.
-
Weather in the canyon can shift quickly and sometimes without warning, so it’s important to come prepared with everything listed on the packing list. Rain showers and thunderstorms are possible at any time. Temperatures vary widely by month, ranging from daytime highs in the 60s with nighttime lows near freezing in March, to summer highs exceeding 100°F with warm nights in the 70s by August. For a broader view of seasonal conditions, we recommend reviewing the NOAA monthly weather averages for Labyrinth Canyon.
-
The Green River section we will be on is considered a Class I river with no rapids. This is a flat water trip.
-
All meals are provided. We are able to accommodate most dietary needs, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. All drinking water for the journey is packed and supplied.
-
This is a fully collaborative experience, designed to foster a strong sense of community and create a deeply memorable, transformative journey. All participants share in camp life: helping to set up and break down camp, loading and unloading canoes, preparing meals, and cleaning up together.
Each person is responsible for bringing their own camping gear, including a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and other items listed in the packing list. For those sensitive to insects, long sleeves and pants are recommended, along with bug lotion and a head net. We schedule trips in spring and fall to minimize mosquitoes, though a few may still make an appearance.
-
The deposit and trip fee for this journey are non-refundable. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment. A good policy can cover non-refundable expenses if you become ill, face significant travel delays, experience lost luggage, or encounter other unexpected challenges. Some plans even offer “cancel for any reason” coverage, or allow cancellation due to work obligations.
-
We welcome people of all skill levels and backgrounds—even if you’ve never canoed, camped, or spent time in the wilderness before. We’ll teach everything you need to know. Our Labyrinth Canyon canoe trips are suitable for adults ages 18 to 80+.
Before signing up for a week-long overnight wilderness canoe adventure, consider the following:
You are comfortable living in a tent.
You are ready for an adventure without electricity, showers, or Wi-Fi.
You are able to use primitive camp latrines.
You can get in and out of a canoe on your own.
You can walk on uneven ground and up and down hills unassisted.
You can get on and off the ground independently.
You can carry your own gear.
You can set up and take down your tent—practice before your trip!
You are willing to help with camp tasks, including carrying gear, setting up and breaking down camp, preparing meals, and cleaning up.
Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to Grand Junction, Colorado. The Grand Junction Regional Airport will be our meeting and pickup location. This central meeting point allows those who drive to park their vehicles and provides an easy, shared place for the group to gather.
From the airport, we will travel together via van to Ruby Ranch, Utah to the river put-in. At the end of our journey, we will return to Grand Junction. We recommend arriving in Grand Junction one day early to allow time to settle and be prepared for the morning pickup on the 25th. Participants are encouraged to share an Airbnb or arrange local accommodations for the night we get off the river, and plan to fly out or drive home the following day.
Interested in protecting your investment? We recommend purchasing travel insurance. Due to the intentional nature of our trips and programming, all trips are non-refundable.
